El que més recordo del primer assaig d’ Ego que vaig presenciar al Prat del Llobregat és la sensació d’alucine total que em va provocar el seu bateria. Em va semblar el més espectacular que havia conegut. Aquest era l’Eric, un noi que amb 16 anys ja s’havia tret les bateries de Mike Portnoy dels discos de Dream Theater i Liquid Tension Experiment! Un fan absolut aleshores de Daniel Gildelöw i infintat de grups de metal progressiu que va fer-me descobrir. Amb el temps vaig comprovar que no només era un as de la bateria sino que també es motivava a treure amb la guitarra elèctrica les cançons que més li agradaven de super guitarristes com Steve Vai o Joe Satriani. Va crear EGO amb el seu gran amic i guitarrista Germàn Fafiàn, i allà vaig aparèixer jo com a teclista per a aprendre tantissimes coses que considero que ha estat el meu grup «Pedrera» abans d’endinsar-me dins el món professional. Amb EGO vàrem arribar a guanyar un conegut concurs de bandes a nivell nacional i participar en la gran final celebrada a Alemanya. Bé, doncs l’Èric va guanyar el primer premi com a millor bateria a la final nacional i segon a la internacional! What I remember most of the first rehearsal I attended to of the band “Ego” at el Prat del Llobregat was what the drummer made me feel. I had never known such a spectacular drummer. His name was Eric, a boy that with only 16 years old had learned how to play what Mike Portnoy played (the drums part) in Cream Theatre and Liquid Tension Experiment! He used to have a fondness for Daniel Gildelöw and a wide range of progressive metal bands, which I discovered thanks to him. As the time past, I figured out that he wasn’t only brilliant as a drummer. He also learned how to play the guitar in order to play the songs he liked. Together with Germàn Fafiàn (a guitarist, also good friend of his), he started Ego. My keyboard and I joined them and I learned a large amount of things. I consider Ego as my pre-professional career band. We won a national band competition, and we reached the finals for the international one! He won the price for the best drummer in the national competition, and the second price at the international.
