Sona molt pel·liculero, però vaig conèixer a la Gabriela el 10 de febrer del 2011 (ara fa 3 anys) a un concurs concert de talents. Cantava amb només 16 anys acompanyada del Max, un guitarrista amic seu, i vaig quedar bocabadat del color de veu tan autèntic que treia i del seu accent anglés (el seu pare és de Chicago).
Allà hi era també l’amic Miguel Manzo que m’explicava que era alumna seva de cant i reia de la meva cara de tonto. Encara recordo que ho veia molt clar: vull fer algo amb aquesta veu! pensava. Allà m’hi vaig quedar esperant fins que vaig aconseguir demanar-li que passés un dia per l’estudi. Durant els tres anys següents vàrem quedar unes quantes estones per a provar les possibilitats de la seva veu en diferents registres i escoltar les seves preferències estilístiques on es trobés més còmode cantant de manera natural. Després de col·laborar amb artistes com Raúl Quílez o Coque Malla sembla que aquest 2014 serà l’any finalment escollit per a editar un EP a Wave Factory Studio sota la meva producció i iniciar una carrera com artista que promet de segur un bon futur! It might sound quite showy, but I met Gabriela the 10th of February 2011 (3 years ago) in a talent show. She was only 16 years old when she was singing up there, accompanied by a guitar played by her friend Max. I was absolutely astonished by the sound of her voice and her English accent (her dad is from Chicago). My friend Miguel Manzo, her singing teacher, was also there and he laughed at my face, since I was open-mouthed. I remember it perfectly: “I have to do something with this voice”, I thought. I stood there waiting until I spoke to her in order to ask her if she would visit me at the studio. In those 3 years, we’ve met a few times. We’ve been testing her voice in different singing areas as well as in various styles. After having collaborated with artists such as Coque Malla or Raúl Quílez, Gabriela and I are going to edit an EP at Wave Factory Studio this 2014, under my production. We are about to start a promising career!! I’ll keep you informed!
